The Goalie Guild is proud to announce a new partnership with Elite Goalies, one that is dedicated to providing creative and unique goaltending analysis, features and content for Hockey Now, Canada’s highly-recognized monthly hockey publication.
Elite Goalies, a pro goaltending camp founded by Dallas Stars goalie coach and former NHL’er Mike Valley, is home to a number of professional goalies, including Brian Elliott, Al Montoya and Marty Turco. Elite Goalies sponsors a page in eachHockey Now issue and will feature articles written by Justin Goldman from The Goalie Guild.
“Elite Goalies is proud to partner with The Goalie Guild to strategically write monthly goaltending articles for Hockey Now in a manner very different than all other goalie schools and resources,” said Valley. ”We are looking to launch the magazine to a whole new level of goaltending insight with growth both internally and externally.”
Elite Goalies provides world-class instruction and mentorship to goaltenders of all ages. The coaches believe first and foremost in the value of effective communication between the athlete and coach. Their low student/instructor ratio creates a dynamic environment, propelling students to take their game to the next level. The values of positive attitude, discipline, work ethic and respect gained from their goalie schools and programs help their students unlock their true potential.
The Goalie Guild, which was founded by Goldman in February, 2009, is a haven for those passionate about the goaltending position. As a scout and analyst based in Denver, Justin has covered the Colorado Avalanche since the 2005-06 season and currently hosts ”Avalanche Weekly” on Mile High Sports AM 1510. He also provides scouting reports for McKeen’s and Dobber Hockey and appears as a guest on radio shows and podcasts.
“I’m excited to work side-by-side with Elite Goalies on valuable content for Hockey Now readers,” Goldman said. ”Having an opportunity to partner with a respected professional goalie coach is a real honor, and as such, I’m dedicated to providing quality insight and analysis for thousands of goaltenders.”
The goal of Hockey Now is to recognize exceptional contributions to the game by all those involved. The ultimate objective is to provide ever-widening coverage of the game, from minor hockey levels through to Major Junior and the NHL, and to capture the spirit of the game and reflect its central position in Canadian life.

Since launching in 1999, Hockey Now has continually expanded their coverage, issues, circulation and readership. WIth official ties to many of the largest and most influential hockey organizations in Canada, including B.C. Hockey, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Canada, the NHL, and the NHLPA, the publications are now well established in hundreds of communities across the country.
